The setup
Job posts don't have to be a wall of plain text
A good job post editor changes how candidates read your roles. Most hiring portals give recruiters a plain textarea. The result is the same on every careers page: a long block of text that candidates skim and close. This study takes a real job post on a hiring portal and rebuilds it in the admin with Eddyter, then opens the live page to check the result.
How the job post is rebuilt
The recruiter opens the same post in the admin and edits it in place. Nothing changes in how the content is stored; the editor just gives them more to work with.
Images that can be resized and moved
Paste an image straight into the post, then resize it and drag it to where it belongs. A second image can be shrunk so the section around it scales with it.
Bold, background colour and text colour
Bold a section heading, give one key line an orange background, and change the text colour to match the employer's brand.
Tables for role details
Insert a table for salary, location, experience and benefits. Expand or collapse columns, set the table to full width, colour the header row gold and delete any row you don't need.
Multi-column sections with quick commands
Type / to open quick commands and drop in a three-column section for perks, team or hiring steps.
What the candidate sees
Preview the post, then view it live. No formatting is lost between the admin and the live page: what the recruiter builds in the editor is exactly what the candidate sees.
Where this fits
- Job portals and job boards
- Company careers pages
- Applicant tracking systems (ATS)
- HRMS platforms
Anywhere an admin, recruiter or team member writes content that candidates read. The same approach works for any long-form field in your product.

The config
| Feature | State | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Bold | On | Section titles like Responsibilities and Benefits stand out at a glance |
| Italic | On | Emphasise a team name, a perk or a closing note |
| Heading | On | Break the post into clear sections candidates can scan |
| List | On | Responsibilities, requirements and perks read best as bullets |
| Checklist | Off | Job posts describe the role; candidates don't tick anything off |
| Quote | Off | A job post rarely quotes anyone, so it stays out of the toolbar |
| Code | Off | Candidates read job posts, not code samples |
| Link | On | Link to the company site, benefits page or application form |
| Image | On | Team photos and office shots make the role feel real |
| Table | On | Salary, location and experience fit neatly in a role-details table |
| Emoji | Off | Keeps job posts professional and consistent |
| AI | Off | Recruiters write and review each post themselves |
